I’m a huge Wes Anderson fan, but was a bit worried this would be a bit samey. Was skeptical in the beginning half hour, but then it completely won me over. Such a cute movie.
Absolutely loved it. Really dark, but it wasn’t overwhelming. Was kind of worried about the long running time, but it didn’t drag.
Let me start off by saying that I would never have gone to see this film of my own accord, as I had heard nothing about it, and even looking up the trailer, wasn’t all that interested. But I was told to go see it, and it was bloody brilliant. I was the only girl in the screen, but that doesn’t mean girls won’t enjoy it. The fight scenes are unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. It’s one of those films that makes you want to research into it afterwards. I’m assuming all the actors were hired fighters who were then trained in acting? People actually clapped after the big fight scene at the end and there were audible gasps and OOHs when various disgusting bits happened. Also, Mike Shinoda does the score, so what’s not to like?
I would watch Segel bloody do ANYTHING, so had to go see it. I liked it, I guess. I was really bored about halfway through, but liked what it was trying to do. And, as someone who sees signs in things all the time, I could relate, so there was that. The ending is really good. Definitely worth a watch. Don’t like seeing Ed Helms play bad guys though. TUNA!
I’ve marked this as being above Bruno, but below Borat. Liked that he actually had a storyline with this one, and the scene in the helicopter actually had me in stitches. But now that I’ve seen it, I won’t need to see it again.
Another movie that got absolutely slated, but I loved it. Laughed just as much as I did at the older ones. I felt that although the comedy was still the same, it felt a bit more mature, like these were things that could genuinely happen to us now we’re older, just like the first three did when I was younger. Except for the pie. As far as I know, that has never happened to anyone I know.
I absolutely loved it. It is presented as being an 88 minute long single-take film, and I’d be very interested to find out how many takes it was actually shot in. Because there is no break in concentration, the intensity builds so fast that I found myself actually feeling a bit sick with anxiety about half way through. Rotten Tomatoes slated it, and whilst I do agree that there was very little pay off in the end, it was one of the only films that has scared me in God knows how long. Ashley Olsen is absolutely incredible, and I can’t wait to see what she does next.
Wasn’t really sure how I felt about it. I was somewhere between underwhelmed and average whelmed. I loved the idea, but as my friend pointed out, it’s not as clever as it thinks it is. I don’t think it should really be advertised as a horror film, either. I’m not really sure I (or the creators) know what it was meant to be. But in saying that, I still enjoyed it, so what do I know?
Yeah, don’t really need to say how great it is, because most people already know. Whedon, you’re a genius. Thank you for giving us a comic book adaptation that is worthy of the hype.
No idea why I haven’t seen this film before. I think I was expecting it to be terrible, but I absolutely loved it. Watched the movie, 86 and 88 in the space of a couple of days.
Had I not read the book, I would have absolutely loved it. But having read the book, I still loved it, but felt it had about half the intensity of the book. It massively played down the relationship with Katniss/ Peeta and Katniss/ Rue. There were a few bits that I absolutely loved in the book that just weren’t in the film. It made Katniss’ intentions with Peeta far clearer than the book, but it left out a lot of Peeta’s monologue, which is one of my favourite parts of the book. I also felt a bit short changed on the Katniss/ Rue scale, because in the book, Katniss really delves into how much she reminds her of Prim, and the whole bit about her sharing everything she owns with Rue was just completely skipped.
But having said all that, I still loved it, and will go see it at least a few more times, but I just really really loved the book.
Good enough. Got loads of laughs, and had Ron Swanson in it. So, you know, what’s not to like?
Absolutely loved it. Such a sweet film. One of the only films I’ve seen recently that I would actually buy when it was released on DVD.
Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The story was good enough to keep my attention, and having Taylor Kitsch being half naked the whole way through it certainly didn’t hurt!
